CAIRO – 8 March 2026: Badr Abdelatty, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, called for activating the concept of Arab national security to safeguard the security of Arab countries and protect their sovereignty.
In his speech at the ministerial-level extraordinary session of the League of Arab States, convened to discuss the military escalation in the region and Iranian attacks on Arab countries, Abdelatty stressed the need to activate frameworks for joint Arab cooperation to effectively address existing threats.
He added that this includes considering the formation of a joint Arab force to confront regional challenges and enhance collective security.
The Foreign Minister expressed Egypt’s full solidarity with the Gulf states, Jordan, and Iraq in the face of Iranian aggression, emphasizing Egypt’s unequivocal condemnation and complete rejection of these attacks and any pretexts used to justify them.
In this context, Badr Abdelatty stressed the need to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate military tensions, warning of the seriousness of the situation and the importance of preventing the region from sliding into further escalation and widespread chaos.
