CAIRO - 8 March 2026: The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad marked International Women’s Day on March 8 each year in recognition of the pivotal role women play across various fields of national work and their outstanding contributions to advancing development, promoting the values of justice and equality, and building society.

 

On this occasion, the Ministry reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering commitment to supporting and empowering women, stemming from its firm belief in their vital role as essential partners in achieving sustainable development and advancing society. 

 

The Ministry also commended the remarkable achievements of Egyptian women at both the national and international levels, which reflect their competence, dedication, and leadership.

 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also acknowledged the significant contributions of Egyptian female diplomats, as well as all female employees of the Ministry, whose efforts in supporting diplomatic work and representing Egypt in various international forums embody the honorable image of Egyptian women and underscore their prominent role in the nation’s development.

 

According to the Ministry’s data, a total of 336 female diplomats serving in the Egyptian diplomatic corps.

 

Meanwhile, 52% of women among the newly appointed diplomats who recently joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the latest intakes. 



It added that The number of Egyptian embassies and consulates around the world currently headed by women reached 26.
