CAIRO - 5 March 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly held a Thursday meeting to review the operational status and ongoing development of Alamein International Airport.
The meeting, attended by Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir and Minister of Civil Aviation Sameh El-Hefny alongside senior security and aviation officials, focused on accelerating the airport's transition to full operational capacity. Madbouly emphasized the facility's strategic importance in developing the North Coast and its vital role in boosting tourism and regional investment.
Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El-Hefny detailed the comprehensive development plan, which includes upgrading passenger terminals, arrival and departure halls, and air navigation systems. These improvements aim to enhance service quality and accommodate the expected surge in passenger and aircraft traffic linked to the growth of New Alamein City.
Simultaneously, Transport Minister Kamel El-Wazir outlined efforts to upgrade the road network and axes surrounding the airport. He noted that work is underway to strengthen logistical links between the airport and North Coast tourist hubs, aligning with the state's vision to transform the region into a year-round global attraction.
