Meteorological Authority warns of extremely cold conditions across Egypt

CAIRO – 2 March 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued a warning regarding extremely cold winter conditions across the country, with the most severe temperatures expected during the early morning and late night hours.

According to the EMA's latest weather bulletin, temperatures in Saint Catherine are forecast to drop to a low of 0°C. Monday’s forecast predicts a frigid start to the day, transitioning to milder conditions across most regions by the afternoon, before returning to extreme cold overnight.

The EMA also warned of potential frost formation on crops in central Sinai. In Greater Cairo, overnight temperatures are expected to plummet to 9°C.

Damanhur: Low 10°C, High 17°C

Damietta: Low 12°C, High 17°C

Port Said: Low 13°C, High 17°C

Alexandria: Low 12°C, High 18°C

Suez: Low 10°C, High 18°C

Arish: Low 9°C, High 18°C

Asyut: Low 6°C, High 19°C

Sohag: Low 7°C, High 20°C
