TEHRAN – 1 March 2026: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran’s president for eight years since 2005, was reportedly killed in a missile strike on his residence during a wave of U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, Iranian media and regional reports said on Sunday.

The strike reportedly hit Ahmadinejad’s residence in Narmak district in northeast Tehran, killing him and a number of his security personnel.

The reports have not yet been confirmed by official government statements.
