CAIRO – 28 February 2026: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said there are “growing signs” that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei may have been killed following coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iran.

Netanyahu’s remarks came after satellite imagery showed apparent damage to Khamenei’s compound in Tehran.

Israel earlier said “several senior figures” from Iran’s leadership had been eliminated in the attacks.

Iran has denied Israeli media claims that Khamenei or Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian were killed in today’s strikes.
