CAIRO- 27 February 2026: Social media platforms circulated a video showing a private vehicle bearing a sticker resembling the Israeli flag crashing into a number of citizens and parked cars on Friday.

The Egyptian Ministry on Interior said in a statement the driver of the vehicle shown in the video, who resides in the Kerdasa of Giza, was present at the scene when a verbal altercation broke out between him and a shop owner who objected to the car being parked in front of his store.

As the argument escalated, passersby noticed the flag sticker affixed to the vehicle and assaulted the driver. While attempting to flee the scene, he drove into several pedestrians and passing vehicles, resulting in injuries to six individuals, including fractures and bruises. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals for necessary medical treatment, the statement added.

Authorities later located the vehicle and apprehended the driver. His family stated that he has suffered from a mental illness for several years and is currently undergoing treatment with several psychiatrists.

The family submitted medical records to support this claim. Further investigation indicated that the driver had previously visited a local auto accessories shop and requested that the owner’s daughter print the sticker of the Israeli flag She reportedly printed two copies and handed them to him out of fear, as he is known in the area for his mental instability.

Legal procedures have been initiated, and the Public Prosecution has taken over the investigation, the statement said.
