CAIRO- 27 February 2026: As part of ongoing coordination and consultation with the United States on issues of mutual interest, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad, held a telephone conversation on Friday, February 27, with Mr. Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Arab and African Affairs.
The call addressed the evolving situation in Sudan and ways to support efforts aimed at restoring stability in the country.
Minister Abdelatty briefed Mr. Boulos on Egypt’s regional and international efforts to support Sudan, highlighting Egypt’s chairmanship of the African Union Peace and Security Council ministerial meeting on the situation in Sudan.
He also referred to the visit of Dr. Kamil Idris, Prime Minister of the Republic of Sudan, to Cairo on February 26, noting that it reflected the growing momentum in high-level political consultations between the two countries.
He emphasized the importance of supporting Sudanese state institutions, preserving Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity, and safeguarding the water rights of both nations.
