Trump appreciates President Sisi’ efforts to promote peace

CAIRO – 19 February 2026: US President Donald Trump conveyed to Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly his appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his efforts to promote peace.

 

During the first session of the Board of Peace (BoP) on Thursday, President Trump affirmed that the council would achieve significant accomplishments, stressing that nothing is more important than attaining peace. He noted that the cost of wars far exceeds the cost of securing peace.

 

He continued that the a total of $10 billion  will be provided to Gaza through the BoP, noting that more than $7 billion has been contributed to relief efforts in Gaza.
 
 

He added that most world leaders have agreed to join the Peace Council, while noting that there are certain leaders whose participation is not desired.

 

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is among the key mediators working in cooperation with the United States to promote peace, said Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff during Board of Peace Event.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly departed Cairo for Washington to participate in the first meeting of the newly-formed Gaza “Board of Peace (BoP)” on Thursday on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

 

The board was established by US President Donald Trump in January as an international organization aimed at formulating sustainable solutions to regional and international conflicts, particularly the Palestinian cause. The prime minister is accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty.
