CAIRO – 16 February 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has warned of dust storms affecting exposed areas of Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, and the Suez Canal cities, as strong winds are expected to stir up sand and dust in several regions.
According to the Authority, wind activity will be particularly intense along the northwestern coast, the Matrouh desert, and parts of southern Egypt, potentially leading to reduced horizontal visibility on some roads.
The Authority urged citizens, especially those suffering from allergies and sinus conditions, to wear face masks when outdoors and advised motorists to exercise caution due to dusty conditions and limited visibility.
Temperatures are also forecast to rise across most parts of the country on Monday, with highs expected to reach 30°C in Cairo and 34°C in Aswan.
