CAIRO – 14 February 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a rise in temperatures across most parts of the country on Sunday, February 15, 2026. The weather is expected to be cool in the early morning, hot during the day, and cool again at night.

Winds are expected in parts of the Red Sea Governorate, stirring up sand and dust along the northwestern coast and in the Matrouh Desert, potentially reducing visibility on some roads. Dust is also forecast in areas ranging from northern Egypt to Upper Egypt, central Sinai, and exposed parts of Greater Cairo.

Low clouds are expected over parts of northern Egypt, including Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal cities. These clouds may produce light, scattered drizzle in some areas. Maritime navigation is expected to be disrupted in the western Mediterranean, particularly along the coasts of Salloum, Matrouh, and El Alamein. Wind speeds are forecast to range between 40 and 60 km/h, with wave heights reaching 2 to 3 meters.

On Friday, several Egyptian governorates were affected by a wave of unstable weather, characterized by strong winds and heavy dust that significantly reduced visibility across major squares and arterial roads.

The EMA had previously forecast these volatile conditions, predicting wind speeds of 50 to 60 km/h across most regions of the country.
