CAIRO – 14 February 2026: Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly attended, Saturday, a ceremony of joining the first Airbus A350-900 aircraft to the fleet of EgyptAir.
Dr. Mostafa Madbouly stated that the addition of the new-generation Airbus A350-900 aircraft to the fleet of EgyptAircomes as part of the state’s comprehensive plan to modernize the civil aviation fleet and strengthen regional and international air connectivity.
This step aligns with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to develop the air transport sector and reinforce Egypt’s position as a regional hub for civil aviation. It also reflects the government’s strong commitment to upgrading infrastructure and enhancing the capabilities of the national carrier, thereby supporting tourism and investment while improving access to global markets.
Madbouly noted that this move falls within the framework of Egypt’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to achieve sustainable development and transition toward a green, low-emission economy.
The Prime Minister affirmed that the recent developments in the civil aviation sector demonstrate the confidence of leading international aviation companies in the Egyptian air transport market. He added that they underscore EgyptAir’s readiness to adopt the latest global systems and technologies, further consolidating Egypt’s role as a key transportation hub in the region.
Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation, stated that the introduction of the new aircraft represents a qualitative leap in the fleet modernization program and further strengthens the national carrier’s capacity to deliver high-quality services to passengers.
He emphasized that this step aligns with the state’s broader strategy to develop the civil aviation sector and reinforce Egypt’s position as a leading regional hub for air transport.
