CAIRO – 12 February 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Thursday chaired the first meeting of the government with its newly appointed ministers.

The meeting will be followed by a press conference featuring Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Information, marking his first official participation since assuming his new role this week.

The Cabinet was reshuffled on Tuesday under Madbouly, who has held the post since 2018.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Wednesday witnessed the swearing-in of the newly appointed deputy prime minister for economic affairs, along with 18 ministers.

The reshuffle included both new appointees and incumbents whose ministries were merged under the reshuffle.

The House of Representatives has approved the major cabinet reshuffle.

The restructuring included restoring the Ministry of Information and eliminating the posts of Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development.

El-Sisi met with newly appointed ministers, stressing the need for exerting sustained efforts, based on objective standards, to achieve merit and ensure efficiency within institutions.
