CAIRO – 9 February 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the need to intensify efforts to resolve ongoing regional crises through peaceful means, in a manner that preserves the unity, territorial integrity, and capabilities of affected countries and their peoples.

The two leaders emphasized that any escalation in the region must be avoided, warning that its repercussions would have far-reaching consequences for all, according to a statement issued by the Egyptian Presidency.

President El-Sisi arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Monday, where he met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. The visit reflects the leaders’ keenness to further strengthen bilateral relations across various fields, as well as to enhance consultation and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern.

During the meeting, the two presidents reviewed current regional developments, underscoring the importance of Arab solidarity at this critical juncture for the Middle East, the statement added.

They discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, stressing the need for the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement, the implementation of President Trump’s peace plan, and the facilitation of unrestricted humanitarian aid access to Gaza, particularly with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.

The two leaders also emphasized the urgency of launching early recovery and reconstruction efforts in Gaza, while underscoring the importance of advancing a just and comprehensive peace process based on the two-state solution as a means to achieve lasting peace, security, and regional stability.

Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy said the two leaders held a bilateral meeting over a working lunch, during which President El-Sisi expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality. He praised the unprecedented level of coordination, consultation, and cooperation between the two countries across various sectors, particularly in trade and investment.

On bilateral relations, President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s openness to receiving additional Emirati investments, noting that the relationship between Egypt and the UAE constitutes a cornerstone of Arab national security and regional stability.

For his part, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed welcomed President El-Sisi, highlighting the special ties binding the two countries and reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation with Egypt, particularly in the fields of trade and investment.

As part of the visit, President El-Sisi and Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed toured the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, where the Egyptian president was briefed on the university’s facilities, academic programs, and advanced innovations in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies that support the UAE’s strategic objectives in this field.
