Netanyahu plans to meet Trump this week to discuss Iran nuclear talks

WASHINGTON – 7 February 2026: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet US President Donald Trump on Wednesday in Washington to discuss ongoing negotiations with Iran, Netanyahu’s office said Saturday.

The meeting follows indirect US-Iran nuclear talks held Friday in Muscat, Oman, with both sides signaling that further discussions are expected soon.

A regional diplomat briefed by Tehran told Reuters that Iran emphasized its “right to enrich uranium” during the talks and that its missile program was not on the agenda.

Iranian officials have repeatedly ruled out negotiations over their ballistic missile capabilities.

Meanwhile, the Israeli prime minister’s office said Netanyahu believes any talks “must include limitations on ballistic missiles and a halting of the support for the Iranian axis.”
