CAIRO - 7 February 2026: Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Dr. Maya Morsi, directed the head of the Central Administration for Social Protection to coordinate with the Director of the Social Solidarity Directorate in Minya Governorate to disburse the necessary aid to the families of the victims of the collapse of an internal wall at the ancient Monastery of Saint Abu Fana in Mallawi, Minya Governorate.
 
The accident occurred on Friday, when an internal wall collapsed at the ancient Monastery of Saint Abu Fana in Mallawi, resulting in the death of four children and two others injured.
 
The Minister of Social Solidarity offered her sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
 
She also affirmed that the Ministry will spare no effort in providing all possible support to the families of the victims.
