CAIRO – 6 February 2026: The Rafah land crossing in North Sinai received a fourth group of injured and ill Palestinians from the Gaza Strip on Thursday. The patients have been transferred to Egyptian hospitals for specialized medical care.
This initiative is part of the Egyptian state's ongoing commitment to providing medical and humanitarian support to the Palestinian people amid the dire conditions in the Gaza Strip.
A medical source in North Sinai confirmed that the crossing processed seven patients accompanied by 14 family members. Upon arrival, they were immediately attended to by specialized medical teams stationed at the border.
The source explained that health authorities have raised the level of preparedness at designated hospitals to accommodate the incoming cases. Following initial examinations, patients will be distributed among several facilities based on the nature of their injuries and illnesses, ensuring they receive high-quality, efficient care.
In addition to medical treatment, Egypt is providing comprehensive logistical support. This includes securing suitable accommodation for family companions during the treatment period and facilitating all necessary transportation and follow-up care.
This comes as part of Egypt’s historical and humanitarian responsibility toward the Palestinian cause. Despite significant security and logistical challenges, the Rafah crossing continues to serve as a vital corridor for the regular reception of sick and injured Palestinians, underscoring Cairo's steadfast commitment to the Palestinian people during this crisis.
