Sisi meets SCAF , stresses commitment to maintain Egypt's security

CAIRO - 29 July 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi stressed commitment to proceed with all needed measures to maintain Egypt's security.

The president made the remarks during a meeting Saturday with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF). Defense Minister Sedqy Sobhy and Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazy attended the get-together alongside all SCAF members.

The meeting tackled all plans and security measures adopted by the Armed Forces to protect homeland from any threats, especially North Sinai.

The president stood on the measures taken by the Armed Forces to eradicate terror in Sinai and restore security and stability there.

Sisi commended the Armed Forces' success in thwarting a number of terrorist operations that targeted military posts, hailing the sacrifices offered by the Armed Forces' personnel in the war against terrorism.

The President also lauded the progress realized so far in implementing an all-out strategy for developing the Armed Forces, referring to the recent inauguration of Mohamed Naguib military base in Alexandria.

He said the new base will contribute to boosting the army's capabilities to safeguard the northern areas of the state.

Sisi called for proceeding with development plans to cope with up-to-date military technology to be able to confront any threats facing the country.

The meeting also tackled development projects being carried out by the Armed forces within the framework of backing state efforts to realize comprehensive development and improve people's standards of living as well as the services offered to them.
