RAFAH – 4 February 2026: Israeli strikes in Gaza have killed at least 21 Palestinians, raising the total death toll since a ceasefire took effect on 10 October to 556, according to Gaza’s health ministry.
The latest attacks also injured 38 people, bringing the total number of injuries recorded since the ceasefire to 1,500, the ministry said.
Israeli forces have carried out near-daily violations of the ceasefire, which was reached as part of a Gaza peace plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.
Since the outbreak of the war in October 2023, more than 71,800 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza and over 171,600 injured.
The conflict has damaged or destroyed more than 90 percent of buildings across the enclave and pushed the territory into famine.
Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar condemned Israel’s repeated ceasefire violations in a recent joint statement.
They warned that such actions undermine efforts to restore stability as regional and international actors work to advance the second phase of the plan.
