EMA forecasts slight drop in temperature across Egypt

CAIRO - 3 February 2026: The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) forecasts a slight and temporary drop in temperatures across most of the country on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. The weather will be very cold in the early morning, becoming milder during the day in most areas, warm in Upper Egypt, and very cold at night.

 

Wind Activity

 

Wind activity is expected, with speeds ranging from 30 to 40 km/h across most of the country. This may stir up sand and dust in parts of Sinai, the Red Sea Governorate, and southern Egypt, potentially reducing horizontal visibility on some roads. Dust may also be present in the morning in parts of Greater Cairo, the Nile Delta, and the Suez Canal cities.

 

Chance of Rain

 

Light rain, occasionally moderate, is expected in parts of the northern coast and northern Nile Delta at intervals. There is a very low chance (approximately 20%) of light rain in scattered areas of southern Nile Delta and Greater Cairo at intervals.
