CAIRO - 26 January 2026: Egypt on Thursday sent the first batch of the 124th “Zad Al-Izza” (Provision of Dignity) humanitarian aid mission to the Gaza Strip, as part of its ongoing efforts to ease the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people.

Extra News correspondent Karim Kamal, reporting live from the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing, said the convoy departed Egypt heading toward Gaza through the Al-Awja and Kerem Abu Salem crossings. The shipment is being supervised by the Egyptian Red Crescent and includes thousands of tons of humanitarian assistance.

According to Kamal, the convoy carries essential food supplies such as flour, rice, and canned goods, in addition to relief materials including winter clothing, blankets, and tents for displaced families affected by the ongoing crisis.

The aid shipment also includes petroleum products, notably diesel, gasoline, and natural gas, which are vital for operating generators in hospitals, bakeries, and other critical facilities inside the Gaza Strip.

Kamal noted that Egypt continues to coordinate closely with Palestinian authorities to respond to the worsening humanitarian conditions, particularly following recent severe weather conditions that have further strained living conditions in the enclave.
