CAIRO – 25 January 2026: Marking the anniversary of Police Day, Egypt’s First Lady Entissar El-Sisi paid tribute to the country’s police forces, praising their dedication and sacrifices in safeguarding national security and stability.

In a message shared on social media, she said: “We salute, with all appreciation and pride, the loyal police officers who sacrifice their most precious for the security and stability of the nation. Happy Police Day, and may Egypt always remain safe with its devoted sons.”

Egypt is marking the 74th anniversary of Police Day this year in commemoration of the January 25, 1952 Battle of Ismailia, during which Egyptian police officers confronted British forces.

The heroic stand of the Egyptian police came at a noble cost, with 50 officers martyred and 80 others wounded, a defining act of sacrifice that helped ignite the 1952 Revolution.
