CAIRO – 23 January 2026: To mark the 74th anniversary of Egyptian Police Day, the Ministry of Interior announced a series of discounts and special offers at numerous restaurants and retail chains nationwide, reflecting its commitment to sharing in citizens’ celebrations of this important national occasion.
The Ministry said the initiative aims to support citizens and ease financial burdens, while highlighting the strong bond between the police force and the Egyptian people. The discounts, which include a number of well-known brands and popular restaurants, range from direct price reductions to special offers available exclusively on Police Day.
The Ministry added that the initiative complements a range of ongoing community-focused programs, underscoring its humanitarian and social role alongside its core mission of maintaining security, stability, and public safety across the country.
Egyptian Police Day is a significant national anniversary commemorating the Battle of Ismailia in 1952, during which police officers demonstrated remarkable courage in confronting British occupation forces, setting a lasting example of sacrifice and dedication in defense of national dignity and sovereignty. The occasion has since come to symbolize bravery, loyalty, and patriotism.
Each year, the state marks this anniversary in recognition of the sacrifices made by police officers and their vital national role in protecting state resources, addressing various challenges, and continuing their efforts to safeguard citizens and ensure societal stability.
