CAIRO – 19 January 2026:  Amid heavy rainfall, the Egyptian Red Crescent launched its 119th “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” convoy early Monday, delivering urgent humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip as part of its ongoing role as Egypt’s national mechanism for coordinating relief efforts.

The convoy included more than 233,800 food baskets and over 18,000 blankets, alongside trucks carrying essential supplies to meet the urgent needs of Gaza’s population amid severe winter conditions.

In response to the bitter cold affecting residents of the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian Red Crescent provided critical winter relief items, including more than 21,350 winter clothing pieces, over 18,080 blankets, and approximately 835 tents to shelter displaced families. These efforts come as part of Egypt’s continued support for the Palestinian people.

On its 119th day, the “Zad Al-Ezza” convoy transported tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid, including 1,175 tons of flour, more than 550 tons of relief and personal care supplies, and over 1,240 tons of petroleum products, in addition to the food baskets.

A day earlier, on the 118th day, the “Zad Al-Izza” aid convoy delivered more than 7,170 tons of comprehensive humanitarian assistance. The shipment included over 4,040 tons of food baskets and flour, approximately 1,350 tons of relief and medical supplies, 120 tons of personal hygiene items, and around 1,620 tons of petroleum products.

In addition, essential winter relief supplies delivered to Gaza comprised approximately 39,970 winter clothing items, about 22,950 blankets, and more than 740 tents to provide shelter for those affected by the ongoing crisis.

Launched on July 27, 2025, the “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza” initiative has delivered thousands of tons of aid, including food supplies, flour, infant formula, medical equipment, medicines, personal care items, and fuel.

Since the onset of the crisis, the Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a continuous presence at the border, with the Rafah Crossing remaining open on the Egyptian side. The organization has sustained full operational readiness at all logistical centers, facilitating the delivery of more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid through the efforts of 65,000 volunteers.
