CAIRO – 14 January 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi underscored the centrality of Egypt’s strategic cooperation with the United States as he received US President Donald Trump's senior advisor for Arab and African affairs on Wednesday.

Massad Boulos conveyed Trump’s greetings and appreciation to El-Sisi, who welcomed the message and asked that his own greetings be passed on to the US president, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement.

The meeting addressed ways to further strengthen bilateral relations, with El-Sisi emphasizing the need to build on recent momentum in ties to advance cooperation across multiple fields.

El-Sisi and Boulos agreed on the importance of holding the second edition of the Egyptian-American Economic Forum in 2026.

Both sides also emphasized the need for increased consultation and coordination on regional issues, particularly developments in Sudan, Libya, and the Horn of Africa, with the aim of supporting regional stability.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Head of the General Intelligence Service (GIS) Hassan Rashad attended the talks, alongside US embassy officials, including Deputy Chief of Mission Evyenia Sidereas.
