Egypt declares Wednesday a paid public holiday for Christmas

CAIRO – 5 January 2025: Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly has issued a decree declaring next Wednesday, January 7, 2026, a paid public holiday in observance of Christmas.

 

The holiday will apply to employees of ministries, government departments, public authorities, local administration units, public sector companies, and public business sector companies.

 

On this occasion, the Prime Minister extended his sincere congratulations to all Christian citizens, both inside and outside Egypt, wishing that Allah may return this occasion to all Egyptians with goodness, and to Egypt with continued security, stability, and progress.
