CAIRO – 29 December 2025: A telephone conversation took place on Monday, 29 December, between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between the two countries.
Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdelatty underscored during the call the special nature of Egyptian-Omani relations, which are rooted in strong fraternal ties and a convergence of views on a wide range of regional and international issues.
He highlighted the mutual commitment to further enhancing bilateral cooperation and building on the tangible progress achieved in recent years. The Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of continued coordination and intensified consultations, as well as strengthening cooperation in the economic, trade, and investment fields, to advance shared interests and support development and stability efforts in both countries and the wider region.
The spokesperson added that the two ministers exchanged views on developments in the Gaza Strip. Minister Abdelatty reviewed Egypt’s efforts to consolidate and sustain the ceasefire and to implement its subsequent requirements, including those related to the U.S. President’s plan. These efforts focus on ensuring the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid and creating the necessary conditions for early recovery and reconstruction. He reaffirmed Egypt’s rejection of any infringement on the unity of Palestinian territory or any actions that could undermine the prospects for a political settlement.
The call also addressed developments in Yemen, where Minister Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s support for Yemen’s unity and territorial integrity, as well as the preservation of its national institutions. Regarding the situation in the Horn of Africa, the Foreign Minister affirmed Egypt’s firm rejection of any unilateral measures that would undermine the sovereignty and unity of Somalia. He emphasized Egypt’s support for Somalia’s legitimate state institutions, adherence to international law and the UN Charter, and the importance of maintaining stability in the region.
