CAIRO – 22 December 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call with President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, to congratulate her on her re-election for a second presidential term, as well as on the successful completion of parliamentary elections and the formation of a new government.

 

Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy stated that President El-Sisi praised the remarkable progress in bilateral relations, describing them as a model of cooperation and economic integration among African nations. He also affirmed the two countries’ commitment to further strengthening political consultations.

 

For her part, President Samia Hassan expressed her appreciation for President El-Sisi’s congratulations, stressing the pride of the Tanzanian government and people in the support provided by Egypt across various fields. She said she looks forward to welcoming President El-Sisi to Tanzania at the earliest opportunity to inaugurate the Julius Nyerere Hydroelectric Dam. In this context, she conveyed her sincere gratitude for President El-Sisi’s efforts, which contributed to the completion of this major national project.

 

The call also addressed ways to advance economic relations between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of increasing trade exchange and taking practical steps to achieve this goal. President El-Sisi affirmed Egypt’s readiness to expand Egyptian investments in the Tanzanian market and to contribute to the implementation of infrastructure projects. President Hassan welcomed this commitment, highlighting the wide range of investment opportunities available to Egyptian companies, which would further enhance cooperation and integration between the two brotherly nations.
