MIAMI – 20 December 2025: Egypt, the United States, Qatar, and Turkey issued a joint statement on Saturday reaffirming support for the establishment of a Board of Peace (BoP) as a transitional administration in Gaza, Al Qahera News reported.

The statement comes as US special envoy Steve Witkoff said representatives from the four countries held talks in Miami on US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace deal, currently in its first phase.

The four countries affirmed backing the empowerment of a governing body in Gaza under a unified Gazan authority as part of the second phase of the peace plan.

The statement emphasized full adherence to all provisions of Trump’s peace plan, calling on all parties to honor their commitments and exercise restraint.

It also noted that consultations would continue in the coming weeks to advance implementation of the plan’ second phase.
