EgyptAir denies 'fake' video of emergency landing on Cairo road, vows legal action

CAIRO – 20 December 2025: EgyptAir on Saturday denied a video circulated on social media claiming that one of its aircraft made an emergency landing on Cairo’s ring road.

The national flag carrier said the video is “false and completely fabricated” and “bears no relation to reality” as it was created using artificial intelligence techniques.

EgyptAir urged media outlets and social media users to refrain from circulating or sharing unverified content.

EgyptAir said it would take all necessary legal measures against those responsible for producing and disseminating the fabricated video, citing the misleading nature of the content and the damage caused to the reputation of the national airline.
