CAIRO - 16 December 2025: Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Atty spoke with his Hungarian counterpart Péter Szijjártó, urging international action to stabilize Gaza while affirming strong bilateral ties.
Abdel Atty emphasized the need to ensure a sustainable ceasefire in Gaza and swiftly implement UN Security Council Resolution 2803, calling for the rapid deployment of an interim international stabilization force to monitor the truce and protect civilians.
The resolution was adopted in November, led by the U.S. and endorsing a peace plan for Gaza.
Abdel Atty stressed that humanitarian aid must flow unimpeded, and reconstruction must begin to improve Palestinian lives. He also urged steps that would allow the Palestinian Authority to resume its role in Gaza, supporting a comprehensive vision for a just and comprehensive peace aligned with international law.
The two ministers also lauded the significant progress in Egyptian-Hungarian relations, pledging to intensify economic and trade cooperation and continue close coordination in multilateral forums to enhance global stability.
