Spokesperson for the Secretary-General Gamal Roshdy stated that Abul Gheit considered the attack as one episode in an ongoing campaign launched by the occupation against the international agency to undermine the UNRWA's role on defending the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Abul Gheit asserted that the occupation’s pretexts for this illegal raid have no logical or legitimate basis, describing the attack as a continuous plan to end the UNRWA's presence and work in the occupied territories.

The secretary general also urged the international community to intervene effectively and decisively to halt this Israeli campaign targeting the agency. He noted that UNRWA provides health, education, and employment services to millions of Palestinian refugees, citing the recent important UN vote to extend UNRWA's mandate for an additional three years.
