CAIRO – 8 December 2025: The Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has clarified that recent reports circulating in some newspapers and online platforms claiming that Egypt has raised its visa fees from $25 to $45, which are allegedly under legislative amendments to Law No. 175 of 2025 concerning fees for Ministry of Foreign Affairs buildings, are completely false.
The Ministry confirmed that no executive decisions have been issued to increase visa fees for entry into Egypt. It explained that the measures taken so far only establish a maximum ceiling for visa fees and do not introduce any actual increase.
The Ministry stressed that the information being circulated is nothing more than a rumor. It reaffirmed that any updates related to entry visas or other relevant matters will be announced, as usual, through official statements issued by the competent executive authorities.
The Ministry urged all media outlets and social media users to verify the accuracy of information and consult official sources before publishing any content on this issue.
