CAIRO – 8 December 2025: Executive Director of the National Elections Authority (NEA) Ahmed Bendari announced that Egyptians abroad began voting at 9 a.m. Monday local time in New Zealand — the first country to open polls for the rerun of voting in 30 constituencies of the first phase of the House of Representatives election whose results had previously been annulled.
The re-run — ordered by the High Administrative Court — covers 10 governorates with candidates vying for 58 seats, Bendari said in a press conference on Sunday.
Egyptian embassies and consulates in 117 countries will receive voters over two days, he noted.
Bendari praised Egyptians’ strong participation in previous rounds and urged citizens to vote again and choose representatives who reflect their aspirations.
