CAIRO - 2 December 2025: Engineer Mohamed Salah El-Din Mostafa, Egypt's Minister of State for Military Production, continued a busy schedule of high-level meetings at the Ministry's pavilion during the EDEX 2025 defense exhibition, focusing on strengthening strategic partnerships with key Arab and international defense industries.

The Minister welcomed a high-level delegation from the Saudi General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI).

Minister Salah El-Din emphasized that the meeting underscored the historical and extended relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He stressed the mutual commitment to enhancing strategic partnership and advancing bilateral ties across various fields. The Minister reiterated the Ministry's core mission: fulfilling the requirements of the Egyptian Armed Forces and Police for advanced weapons, ammunition, equipment, and electronic systems. He added that the Ministry utilizes surplus production capacity to manufacture diverse civilian products and contribute to national mega-projects.

Representatives from GAMI affirmed their keenness to participate in all four editions of the EDEX exhibition since its inception in 2018, recognizing it as a distinguished international gathering for leading military manufacturing entities to exchange visions and expertise. They expressed their aspiration to establish fruitful strategic partnerships with Egyptian military production companies, praising the high-level manufacturing capabilities and human expertise available, and commending the advanced and diverse military products displayed at the pavilion.

The Minister also met with Mr. Iyad Kadhim Jabbar, Director General of the Legal Department at the Iraqi Military Industrialization Authority, and his accompanying delegation.

Welcoming the guests, Minister Salah El-Din reaffirmed the depth and durability of relations between Egypt and Iraq. He presented an overview of the manufacturing, technical, and technological capabilities of the Ministry's affiliated companies and units. The Minister stressed the Ministry's commitment to the continuous development of its defense products and keeping pace with the latest global technologies, based on the principle that true peace requires a deterrent force to protect it.

Discussions focused on potential joint cooperation in several manufacturing sectors, including:

Rehabilitating Iraqi factories and enhancing the efficiency of production lines.

Supplying Iraq's requirements for military and civilian products.

The two sides agreed on the necessity of advancing bilateral cooperation across various fields.

Mr. Jabbar praised the technical capabilities of the Egyptian military production companies and their dual role in meeting the needs of the Egyptian Armed Forces and supporting Egypt's sustainable development plan. He noted that the Iraqi Authority, established in 2019, aims to create an advanced military industrial base in Iraq and meet the needs of its armed forces, while also manufacturing civilian products to support the Iraqi national economy.

In a related context, Minister Mohamed Salah El-Din met with representatives of a Philippine military delegation.

The Minister showcased the technological and technical capabilities of Egypt's military production companies. The meeting included discussions on cooperation topics of mutual interest. The Filipino delegation presented their proposed areas of cooperation, expressing interest in integrating their efforts with Egyptian production companies.
