CAIRO – 1 December 2025: Judge Ahmed Bendary, Director of the Executive Authority of the National Elections Authority (NEA), announced the first day of voting in the rerun of parliament election in 19 annulled constituencies has already ended at 31 overseas polling stations, while voting remains ongoing at 108 others.

The voting has begun at all polling stations abroad on the first day of elections in 19 constituencies, with the final station opening just minutes earlier in Los Angeles.

Voting commenced at 10:00 PM Sunday in New Zealand, and polling stations worldwide opened sequentially according to local time as part of the first phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections.

The National Elections Authority’s central operations room is monitoring the opening and functioning of polling stations around the clock to ensure a smooth electoral process, he added.

Overseas voting takes place daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM local time, in accordance with the Authority’s procedural and time schedule for the elections. A one-hour break will be allotted at a time determined by each station’s head to maintain orderly operations.

Regarding the first round of voting in the 19 annulled constituencies, the electoral silence period for the first phase’s runoff began yesterday. Voting abroad for the first round in these constituencies is being held on December 1 and 2, while voting within Egypt will take place on December 3 and 4. Results will be announced on December 11.

As for the runoff elections in these constituencies—if required—the electoral silence period will begin on December 23. Voting abroad will be conducted on December 24 and 25, while voting within Egypt will take place on December 27 and 28. Final results will be announced on January 4.
