Criminal suspect killed in shootout after policeman murdered, officer injured

CAIRO - 1 December 2025: A criminal suspect was killed in an exchange of fire with police forces in Nag’ Atman, part of the Deshna district north of Qena Governorate, during a security operation in which a policeman was martyred and a police officer was injured.

Earlier, according to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, a policeman had been killed and a police officer wounded during a security raid in Nag’ Atman, located in the village of Al-Azab Al-Masriya in the Deshna district of Qena Governorate, following an armed confrontation with wanted individuals. The suspect was killed after the area was secured.
