CAIRO – 1 December 2025: Egypt’s Minister of Defense and Military Production Lieutenant General Abdel-Magid Saqr, welcomed on Monday the participants in the "EDEX 2025" exhibition, saying: “It is my pleasure to begin by welcoming you all to Egypt, the symbol of strength and peace, the land of security and safety,..”
In his speech, at the inauguration of “EDEX 2025”, the Minister of Defense emphasized that the exhibition has become a global platform for countries and companies producing weapons systems and defense systems from around the world to present the latest advancements in technology.
He added that this edition comes amidst the rapid transformations and complex conflicts witnessed in our region and the world, making constant readiness to confront risks and threats an imperative that cannot be neglected.
“The world has come to realize that the repeated warnings from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi about the region sliding into a full-blown war that would drag the world into an uncertain future were insightful, wise, and sincere warnings about the consequences of succumbing to the logic and arrogance of power, rather than the logic of a just and comprehensive peace,” the Minister of Defense said.
He emphasized that Egypt's possession of various elements of power is an investment in ‘genuine peace’.
He noted that “strong nations respect their sovereignty and protect their borders, and the Egyptian Armed Forces have always been, and will remain, a wise and prudent force that protects, not threatens; that builds and develops.”
He also thanked President Abdel Fattah El Sisi for his continued support and constant commitment to enhancing the capabilities of the armed forces “to complete the modernization process and raise combat efficiency, and to strengthening cooperation with brotherly and friendly countries to protect regional and international peace and security, and to extend bridges of cooperation through joint exercises and the exchange of experiences with many countries of the world.”
