CAIRO – 29 November 2025: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi cited daily hardships suffered by the Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank and Jerusalem, urging supportive action by the international community.
El-Sisi made the remarks in a letter to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to mark the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, observed by the United Nations annually on 29 November.
‘Rebuilding Gaza, Restoring Dignity’
El-Sisi urged the international community to help rebuild war-damaged Gaza and restore Palestinians’ dignity by contributing to early recovery and reconstruction efforts, the Egyptian Presidency said in a statement on Saturday.
The suffering of the Palestinian people is not limited to what is happening in Gaza amid the atrocities witnessed there by the world, but extends to the West Bank and Jerusalem, El-Sisi said in his message.
He affirmed that Palestinians are subjected “daily to systematic practices, including restrictions on movement, land seizures, the protection of settler attacks against unarmed civilians, and other violations that have not stopped them (the Palestinians) from continuing their lives despite the difficult circumstances.”
El-Sisi stressed that this humanitarian crisis, ongoing for more than seven decades, imposes a moral and human obligation on the international community to support the Palestinian people by all possible means.
He added that such support would grant Palestinians the ability to remain steadfast and maintain hope that their cause will not be forgotten.
The president urged support for the Palestinian Authority as a central objective, enabling the PA to fulfill their responsibilities toward Palestinians and provide public services with the respect and appreciation they deserve.
‘Legendary Resilience Against Oppression’
El-Sisi underscored Egypt’s longstanding support for the Palestinian cause and the Palestinians.
He stressed that the solidarity day is celebrated this year while “the entire world witnesses the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of injustice and oppression.”
The president praised the Palestinian people for “remaining steadfast on their land, holding fast to their rights, and wearing the mantle of heroism and dignity.”
'Backing Palestinian Dream'
El-Sisi paid tribute to the Palestinian people on their international solidarity day, saying Egypt has, and will continue to, steadfastly uphold the Palestinian cause.
He reiterated Egypt’s support for Palestinians in all forums and at every level, aiming to realize the Palestinian aspiration for an independent state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
