CAIRO – 29 November 2025: Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly inspected ongoing development works in the Sayeda Aisha area in Old Cairo and toured the Fustat View area as part of efforts to revitalize Historic Cairo, on Saturday.

The “Fustat View” project, built on an area of 30 acres, is located on the former site of Batn al-Baqara, previously classified as an unsafe informal settlement. The Urban Development Fund successfully cleared the area and provided all former residents with alternative housing units in the Asmarat project, totaling 2,000 units and costing more than one billion EGP.

Overlooking Al-Fustat Hills Park, the Fustat View project includes 1,412 residential units and 240 units in hotel towers, along with commercial and administrative spaces. It forms an integrated urban community equipped with services, including a health club, mosque, multi-story garage, and extensive green spaces, enhancing residents’ quality of life and restoring the area’s historic and cultural character.

The Prime Minister directed the establishment of a partnership between the Urban Development Fund and the private tourism sector to construct a hotel on adjacent vacant land.

During his tour, Dr. Madbouly stressed the importance of closely monitoring this civilizational initiative, describing it as a key pillar of the state’s urban development agenda, which receives significant government attention.

He also inspected the Al-Hakim Mosque area - restored and inaugurated on February 27, 2023 after a six-year renovation - as well as the Al-Shurbaji Hotel Boutique and Al-Arnaouti Hotel Boutique projects.

Madbouly emphasized that these efforts aim to upgrade unsafe areas and improve the quality of life for residents, in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
