CAIRO – 24 November 2025: The White House’s official Facebook page published comments from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding his plans to formally designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a foreign terrorist organization.

Trump told Just the News on Sunday that the move will be implemented “in the strongest and most powerful terms” and that final documents are being prepared.

Trump reportedly first considered the designation during his initial term in office.

Egypt and several other countries, including Russia, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan, already classify the Muslim Brotherhood as a banned organization.

In Egypt, numerous top leaders of the group have been convicted of violent and terrorist offenses over the past decade, with some receiving death sentences on charges ranging from murder to other acts of terrorism.

On November 18, 2025, Texas governor designated the Muslim Brotherhood and the CAIR as foreign terrorist and transnational criminal organizations. As per the decision, members of the two organization have no right to purchasing or acquiring land in Texas.

“The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world,’" said Governor Abbott in a statement on November 18, 2025. "The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support terrorism across the globe and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation, and harassment are unacceptable,” he continued.

He added that “These radical extremists are not welcome in our state and are now prohibited from acquiring any real property interest in Texas.”

Texas is the first State to have heeded the warnings in the bill that has failed to pass this far.

On 21 November, Abbott has instructed the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to begin criminal investigations into the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
