CAIRO – 23 November 2025: A meeting took place on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in South Africa between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs, and his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, on Saturday, November 22.

 

Minister Abdelatty congratulated India on its upcoming presidency of the BRICS group for 2026, affirming Egypt's full support for India's presidency and expressing the country's aspiration to enhance economic and financial cooperation to serve the interests of the member states' peoples. 

 

The two ministers also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation in the economic, trade, and investment sectors, and support cooperation in technology and innovation. 

 

Minister Abdelatty urged Indian companies to increase their investments in Egypt to benefit from the country’s competitive advantages, particularly in the Suez Canal Economic Zone, which offers various tax and customs incentives.
