CAIRO - 23 November 2025: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met Saturday with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva at the 2025 G20 Summit in South Africa.
In the presence of Foreing Minister Badr Abdel Aaty, they reviewed Egypt's preparations to host the International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction in Gaza.
Guterres commended Egypt's efforts to achieve regional peace, highlighting its pivotal role in securing the peace agreement at the Sharm El-Sheikh Summit.
In a separate meeting with Georgieva, Madbouly reviewed the status of the IMF program with Egyptahead of the IMF mission's visit in early December for the fifth and sixth reviews.
They also noted positive indicators in the Egyptian economy, particularly the increase in foreign exchange reserves, the rise in private sector investments, and improved growth rates, especially in the productive sectors.
