CAIRO – 17 November 2025:  Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and his Jordanian counterpart, Ayman Safadi, discussed on Monday the ongoing efforts to solidify the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement during a phone call.

This came within the framework of continuous coordination and consultation between the two countries regarding developments in Palestine and efforts to solidify the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement.

They emphasized the importance of moving forward with the implementation of all provisions of the plan launched during the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, including its political, humanitarian, and developmental aspects, as it represents a practical path towards achieving Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The call also addressed the ongoing consultations regarding the draft resolution at the Security Council concerning developments in Gaza and security arrangements, in light of the deliberations taking place within the Council in preparation for the vote.

The two ministers stressed the importance of the resolution contributing to the consolidation of the ceasefire and enabling the international peacekeeping force to fulfill its mandate in a way that guarantees security for the Palestinians and creates the conditions for the resumption of the political process.

Minister Abdelatty also briefed his Jordanian counterpart on the preparations underway for the International Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction of Gaza, stressing the importance of mobilizing regional and international support to ensure the effective implementation of the reconstruction plan and alleviate the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people.

Both sides affirmed Cairo and Amman's commitment to continued close coordination and ongoing consultation in support of efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace and enhancing security and stability in the region.
