Egypt’s Ministry of Aviation denies rumors claiming establishment of low-cost airline

CAIRO – 14 November 2025: Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation issued a statement, Friday, confirming that there is absolutely no truth to reports circulating on some social media pages and news websites claiming that a study is underway to establish a low-cost airline or to offer shares for investment by banks or tourism investment companies.

The Ministry clarified that this information is inaccurate and did not originate from any official entity within the civil aviation sector. It emphasized that current plans are being implemented in accordance with approved policies, with no intention of launching projects of this nature.

The Ministry also urged media outlets and social media users to verify the accuracy of any published information and to rely solely on official statements issued by the Ministry to ensure credibility and prevent public confusion.

Furthermore, the Ministry affirmed its full legal right to take all necessary measures against any parties that circulate or promote false news that may harm the sector and its achievements.
