CAIRO – 10 November 2025: During a telephone call took place on Monday, November 10, 2025, between Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs, and his Russian counterpart Mr. Sergey Lavrov, two ministers discussed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming Russia–Africa Ministerial Conference, scheduled to be held in Cairo.

 

They underscored the importance of maintaining close coordination to ensure that the conference produces tangible outcomes that contribute to advancing African–Russian cooperation, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a statement.

 

Minister Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to ensuring the success of the conference and to maximizing its outcomes in a manner that reinforces developmental and economic partnerships between Russia and African nations, while supporting the continent’s sustainable development priorities.

 

The call comes as part of the ongoing consultations between the two countries on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest, the statement added. 

 

The discussion focused on the trajectory of Egyptian-Russian relations, with both sides expressing their appreciation for the longstanding friendship between the two countries and its significant progress across various fields. Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement, including the follow-up on the implementation of joint strategic projects.
