CAIRO - 8 November 2025: The 8th International Egyptian Dates Festival kicks off today, Saturday, in the Bahariya Oasis, specifically in the village of Mandisha in the city of Bawiti, with broad participation from Arab and foreign countries.
120 exhibitors participate in the festival
This year’s edition brings together more than 120 exhibitors from Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Sudan, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Pakistan, Mexico, and Ethiopia. The event will also welcome a number of ministers, ambassadors, governors, and officials, reflecting the depth of Arab and international cooperation in supporting the date industry and promoting agricultural innovation.
Activities, scientific seminars, and innovation competitions
The festival program includes cultural activities, scientific seminars, and competitions focused on excellence and innovation in the date sector. It will also host direct meetings between producers, exporters, and distribution networks, alongside field visits, exhibitions, and folkloric performances.
Additionally, several distinguished figures will be honored for their efforts in supporting and advancing the date industry in the Bahariya Oasis.
Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza, affirmed that the festival represents a significant opportunity to showcase the city’s tourism and investment potential. He noted that the event enables residents and exhibitors to present the diverse products and traditional crafts for which the Bahariya Oasis is known—contributing to the development of local industries and stimulating promising investment opportunities in this vital sector.

The Governor highlighted the state’s keen interest in developing promising regions like the Bahariya Oasis. He emphasized that hosting such events reflects the government’s commitment to empowering local communities and supporting the agricultural and heritage-based industries that distinguish each area. He also praised the collective efforts behind preparing and organizing this year’s festival.
