CAIRO – 6 November 2025: Egypt’s 2025 Parliamentary election for Egyptians abroad has officially kicked off with the opening of polling stations in New Zealand to Egyptian voters to cast their ballots.

With 11-hour time difference from Cairo, the polling stations in Wellington have opened their door at 9 AM local time, marking the first to receive voters in the 2025 election.

The Central Operations Room of the National Elections Authority, headed by Judge Ahmed Bendary, held a press conference to follow up with the latest updates on the 1st day of elections abroad.

Counselor El-Bendary, said that the Authority is closely monitoring the electoral process abroad, noting the full and continuous coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate voting at 139 polling stations distributed across 124 countries worldwide.

El-Bendary explained that the number of polling stations abroad has increased since the last Senate elections, following the addition of Iraq to the countries where Egyptians are voting.

He added that voting will begin gradually in various countries around the world, with Los Angeles in the United States being the last city to start.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Thursday that all necessary facilities have been provided at the polling stations to ensure a smooth voting process, maximize participation among Egyptians living abroad, and allow citizens to exercise their right to vote.

A 24-hour operations room has also been established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working in coordination with the National Election Authority to monitor the process.

To ensure effective participation of Egyptians abroad, Egyptian embassies and consulates worldwide have been making final preparations to welcome voters.

The first phase of overseas voting will take place on November 7–8, while the second phase is scheduled for November 21–22.

The first phase of voting for Egyptians living abroad in the 2025 House of Representatives elections will run on Friday and Saturday across Egyptian embassies and consulates worldwide.

For voters inside Egypt, the first phase of elections will take place on Monday and Tuesday 10-11 November.

The first phase includes 14 Egyptian governorates: Giza, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Minya, Assiut, New Valley, Sohag, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, Red Sea, Alexandria, Beheira, and Matrouh.

Voting in the second phase will take place on Friday and Saturday, November 21–22 for expats and on Monday and Tuesday November 24–25 for citizens inside the country in the remaining 13 governorates.
