CAIRO – 3 November 2025: As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen trade relations and attract foreign investment to Egypt, and within the framework of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs organized an official visit by a delegation from the U.S. state of Nebraska, headed by Secretary of State of Nebraska Robert Evan, from October 28 to 30, 2025.

The visit was coordinated in collaboration with the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, D.C., said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Monday evening.

The visiting delegation included representatives from American companies specializing in modern irrigation systems, water conservation technologies, and advanced storage solutions for strategic agricultural crops. It also featured delegates from the University of Nebraska and healthcare professionals.

During their stay, the delegation held a series of meetings with senior officials from various Egyptian ministries and agencies, including Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population.

Further discussions took place with senior representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, the National Service Projects Organization, and the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority. The delegation also met with leaders and members of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cairo, along with Egyptian business figures in the fields of agriculture, irrigation, and healthcare.

The meetings explored multiple avenues for enhancing cooperation between Egypt and the state of Nebraska, focusing on expanding trade, investment, and academic collaboration. Discussions centered on the development of smart irrigation technologies, optimizing water resource management, advancing food security, and fostering stronger academic and scientific partnerships, particularly in the healthcare sector.

These engagements underscored the shared commitment of both sides to deepening collaboration within the framework of Egypt’s long-standing and strategic relationship with the United States.
