Security forces are also preparing to secure the opening celebrations of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Heavy police presence was seen around the Grand Egyptian Museum and all along the streets leading to it, aimed at creating a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

Preparations are focused on the museum's surroundings to ensure smooth traffic flow on the roads. Security has also been beefed up in public squares, where the celebrations will be broadcast on screens, enabling citizens to follow the event closely and safely.

All eyes will be on Cairo from all over the world on November 1, the date of the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which is considered a new gateway to Egyptian civilization.

One of the museum's most prominent features is the unveiling of the King Tutankhamun Hall, which spans an area of 7,500 square meters and includes more than five thousand artifacts that tell the most intimate details of the life of the child king.

These artifacts reflect Tutankhamun's life from his accession to the throne, through the secrets of the royal tomb, to his immortality in history.

Egypt’s Cabinet also announced that Saturday, November 1, 2025, will be an official paid holiday for all public sector employees nationwide, marking the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

Mohamed El-Homossany, the Cabinet’s Official Spokesperson, stated in a statement that Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly has decided to grant the day off to employees in ministries, government agencies, public authorities, local administration units, and companies in both the public and public business sectors. The decision followed a meeting held earlier on Saturday between the Prime Minister and senior officials with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
